Biomimetic Crowns / Onlays (CEREC)
Modern Restorations: The Art of Preservation
At Calm Dental, we believe that the foundation of a healthy smile is the preservation of natural tooth structure. Our philosophy, rooted in Biomimetic Dentistry, prioritizes restorations that "mimic nature"—preserving the core strength and integrity of your tooth.
The Biomimetic Advantage: Restoring structural integrity
A traditional dental crown often requires a tooth to be reduced to a small peg to accommodate the restoration. Our biomimetic approach challenges this. We look at the tooth as a complete structural ecosystem.
When a tooth is compromised by decay or fracture, we aim to replace only the damaged portion. An inlay (which fits within the tooth) or an onlay (which covers one or more cusps) allows us to save a significant amount of your natural, strong enamel and dentin.
By bonding these porcelain restorations to the tooth, we create a unified, functional structure. This load-sharing design mimics the flex and resilience of a natural tooth, supporting its long-term health and reducing the risk of future fractures. It is an investment in your systemic wellness and biological longevity.
Biocompatible & Beautiful: We exclusively use metal-free materials like Lithium Disilicate and Zirconia. These are not only strong and aesthetically matching with natural teeth, but they are also biocompatible—eliminating the risk of metal sensitivities and the unsightly "black line" at the gum level often seen with older crowns. We also use conservative techniques to prepare onlays wherever possible to reduce loss of tooth structure.
High-Tech Precision: Your Single-Day Journey
Your restorative journey at Calm Dental is guided by digital precision, eliminating the need for traditional molds and multiple appointments.
3D Digital Monitoring & Scan Instead of uncomfortable physical impressions, we use a sophisticated CEREC Primescan intraoral scanner to capture a precise, highly detailed 3D digital map of your tooth. This scanning process is quick, clean, and comfortable.
CAD/CAM Digital Design Using specialized Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, we design your custom inlay or onlay with microscopic accuracy right before your eyes. This allows us to ensure a perfect fit that integrates seamlessly with your bite.
In-House Precision Milling Your bespoke restoration is then milled from a single block of high-quality, biocompatible ceramic using our in-house Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) unit, the CEREC Primemill. The ceramic we select is chosen for its ability to match the strength and aesthetics of natural tooth enamel.
Immediate, Bonded Placement Once milled, the onlay is polished, characterized, and carefully bonded to your tooth. You leave the appointment with a final, functional, and natural-looking restoration—all completed in a single day.
Why A Single Day Matters: Concierge Efficiency
For the busy professionals and families at Millenia Walk, time is a valuable resource. Traditional restorative dentistry can take weeks, requiring temporary crowns and multiple trips to the clinic.
Our single-visit CEREC process provides a streamlined, "concierge" experience:
No Temporary Restorations: Eliminate the discomfort and inconvenience of temporary caps, which can break or fall off.
One Appointment, One Anesthetic: Complete the entire process in one session, reducing chair time and the need for repeated numbing.
Sustainable Wellness: We offer a durable, precise, and healthy solution that fits your demanding lifestyle, allowing you to prioritize your oral health without sacrificing your schedule.
